At Modern Day Smiles, we believe that prevention is the key to optimum oral health.
With regular cleaning and check-up visits, our team can help you maintain a beautiful smile and good oral health for a lifetime, which translates into optimum overall health and well-being as well – our goal for you as our patient.
Dental Cleanings and Check-Ups
Our doctors recommend that patients in good oral health visit us every six months or twice per year. At your regular dental visits, our hygienists will clean your teeth and remove the excess plaque build-up that can cause tooth decay or periodontal (gum) disease. Your hygienist will also take the time to educate you about your oral health and offer helpful tips and suggestions for proper brushing and flossing techniques so you can make the most out of your home care routine.
You’ll also be screened for issues such as oral cancer, gum disease, and tooth decay because our doctors can actually detect these issues in their earliest stages. Being proactive about these oral health concerns can ensure that you have the best chance for the least costly and invasive treatment. With periodontal disease linked to other health concerns such as diabetes, stroke, and cardiovascular disease, it’s more important than ever to maintain excellent oral health.
At Modern Day Smiles, we utilize digital x-rays for the benefit of both our doctors and our patients.
For Dr. Patel and Dr. Spinuso, digital images offer a much clearer internal picture of your teeth, which means a more accurate and precise diagnosis. These images are also much easier to transfer and share with other doctors participating in your care.
For our patients, digital x-rays allow you to see your images almost immediately after they’re taken. This gives you the opportunity to see and discuss options for treatment and care with your doctor during your appointment and allows you to better understand the necessity for your treatment. Digital x-rays also expose patients to 80% less radiation than traditional x-rays.
We welcome patients of all ages to Modern Day Smiles, and our doctors recommend that your children begin seeing us around the age of three, unless you’ve noticed any concerns or issues ahead of time. We know how important first dental visits are for your child, and we strive to make every visit to our office positive, fun, and upbeat. We also offer additional services for children such as fluoride and dental sealants.
We hope to be your life-long partners in optimum oral health at Modern Day Smiles, and we look forward to serving you and your family. Contact our office today to schedule your next cleaning and check-up.
