At Modern Day Smiles, you will find modern state-of-the-art equipment in both our St. Petersburg and Tampa locations. This is because we’re committed to making every visit to our office pleasant and comfortable for our patients, and Dr. Patel and Dr. Girgis believe that utilizing the latest dental technology is one way to do this.
Here is a sampling of what you can expect to find at our office:
A Modern Environment
Patient comfort is a top priority of ours, so both of our convenient locations are equipped with televisions in each treatment room so you can relax and unwind during your procedures. We understand that convenience is important to our patients, so we utilize digital records. This makes it easy for you to complete any updates or paperwork online, rather than spending extra time filling out paperwork at our office.
We also use an intraoral camera to help you have a better view and understanding of why you may need certain treatment procedures. With color pictures of your mouth and teeth, we can easily show you and explain exactly what’s going on in your mouth. This allows you to take charge of your own oral health and make educated decisions about which treatment procedures are right for you.
We utilize digital x-rays at Modern Day Smiles because they’re efficient and provide numerous benefits for both our doctors and our patients. For our patients, digital images expose you to 80% less radiation than traditional films, and they are available immediately so you can discuss treatment and care needed with your doctor. For our doctors, digital x-rays are much clearer and make diagnosis more accurate. They’re also easier to transfer and share with other providers who may be collaborating on care.
We also provide panoramic x-rays, which offer a full view of your mouth and teeth. These are taken every 3 to 5 years and help us monitor your oral health. They are also helpful for patients considering orthodontic care.
Otherwise known as root canal therapy, endodontics already have a bad reputation among patients as being a painful procedure. The truth is, your root canal is not what causes the pain; it’s the infection in your tooth!
Root canal therapy actually relieves your pain, and rotary endodontics makes the procedure more comfortable and efficient because it uses electrical instruments made of flexible titanium.
We understand that the thought of having dental procedures done can cause some patients stress and anxiety. For this reason, we offer nitrous oxide that will help you feel at ease during your dental appointments. Nitrous can be used for longer dental appointments or even simple cleaning and check-up procedures.
